NewsOlah Summer 2009
letter from heather new in the portfolio-lah
Summer is coming to an end, which means it's time to share with you all what designOlah has been up to the last few months. The first featured project is a fun, youth-oriented website for Sonoma County United Methodist Youth, or SCUMY. Bright colors, "grunge" textures, and fun use of photos aims to capture the attention of teens and young adults. The youth group's leader reported that in its first few months of use, the site has helped increase the amount of communication she has with both youth and parents, and has even generated interest from other agencies in the community.

I also had the privilege of designing a new logo for an up-and-coming honeymoon registry website called Joy Honeymoon. The website aims to provide engaged couples the opportunity to register for the honeymoon of their dreams. The goal was to create a simple, classy and joyful logo that would hopefully be immediately recognizable to engaged couples. Look for the website to be launched soon, also designed by designOlah.

Those of you local to the south bay area may already be familiar with the Cupertino city park and recreation area known as Blackberry Farm. The park has been newly renovated, and the city wanted a fresh new look to announce their reopening. I worked with the Parks & Recreation Department to create a series of promotional pieces using a coordinating visual theme, seen here in this trifold brochure, emphasizing the trees and natural beauty of the park.

Enjoy the last weeks of hot temperatures and the approaching colors of fall!
